Unna’s paste boot /o̅o̅″nəz/ [Paul G. Unna, German dermatologist, 1850–1929; L, pasta, paste; ME, bote] , a dressing for varicose ulcers formed by applying a layer of a gelatin-glycerin-zinc oxide paste to the leg and then a spiral bandage covered with successive coats of paste to produce a rigid boot.
