fimbriae of uterine tube

fimbriae of uterine tube, the branched fingerlike projections at the distal end of each of the fallopian tubes. The projections are connected to the ovary and have epithelial cells with cilia that serve to move the ovum toward the uterus. Also called fimbriae tubae.
