zygomaticus major

zygomaticus major /zī′gōmat″ikəs/ , one of the 12 muscles of the mouth. Arising from the zygomatic bone and inserting into the corner of the mouth, it acts to draw the angle of the mouth up and back to smile or laugh. Also called zygomaticus. Compare zygomaticus minor.
