Veillonella

Veillonella /vā′yənel′ə/ [Adrien Veillon, French bacteriologist, 1864–1931] , a genus of gram-negative anaerobic bacteria. The species Veillonella parvula is normally present in the alimentary tract, especially in the mouth. This infection is often mistaken for more serious gonococcal infection.
