U wave

U wave, a small, rounded wave that follows the T wave on an electrocardiogram. Normally its polarity is that of the T wave. Its mechanism is unknown. The U wave becomes taller in hypokalemia and inverted in heart disease. It may signify decreased potassium levels in the blood.
