traumatic shock

traumatic shock [Gk, trauma, wound; Fr, choc] , the emotional or psychological state after trauma that may produce abnormal behavior. The most common types are hypovolemic shock from blood loss and neurogenic shock caused by a disruption of the integrity of the spinal cord.
