toxic hepatopathy

toxic hepatopathy, liver disease produced by a hepatotoxin such as Amanita phalloides toxin, carbon tetrachloride, white phosphorus, or any of various drugs. It can range in severity from subclinical abnormalities to jaundice to fulminant liver failure.
