tendinitis

tendinitis /ten′dənī″tis/ [L, tendere, to stretch; Gk, itis, inflammation] , inflammation of a tendon, usually resulting from strain. Treatment may include rest, corticosteroid injections, application of ice or heat, and support. Also called tendonitis.
