synovial chondroma

synovial chondroma, a rare cartilaginous growth in the connective tissue below the synovial membrane of the joints, tendon sheaths, or bursa. Foci on the surface may develop stalks and then detach, resulting in numerous loose bodies within the joint. Also called synovial chondromatosis.
