sternothyroideus

sternothyroideus /stur′nōthīroi″de·əs/ [Gk, sternon + thyreos, shield, eidos, form] , one of the four infrahyoid muscles. It acts to depress the thyroid cartilage. Also called sternothyroid muscle. Compare sternohyoideus.
