sternohyoideus

sternohyoideus /stur′nōhī·oi″dē·əs/ [Gk, sternon + hyoeides, upsilon, U-shaped] , one of the four infrahyoid muscles. It acts to depress the hyoid bone. Also called sternohyoid muscle. Compare sternothyroideus.
