spinal segment

spinal segment, a division of the spinal cord containing a bilateral pair of nerve roots. From the anterior to the posterior, the segments are referred to as cervical (C1-C8), thoracic (T1-T12), lumbar (L1-L5), sacral (S1-S5), and coccygeal (Co1-Co3).
