sialorrhea

sialorrhea /sī·al′ərē″ə/ [Gk, sialon + rhoia, flow] , an excessive flow of saliva that may be associated with various conditions, such as acute inflammation of the mouth, cognitive impairment, mercurialism, pregnancy, teething, alcoholism, or malnutrition. Also called hypersalivation, ptyalism.
