sentinel gland

sentinel gland /sen″tinəl/ [Fr, sentinelle + L, glans, acorn] , a node or growth that is associated with the presence of a nearby tumor or ulcer. An example is a supraclavicular node with cancer cells that have metastasized from an undiscovered primary cancer.
