segmentation method

segmentation method, a technique for filling tooth pulp canals in which a preselected gutta-percha cone is cut into segments. The tip segment is sealed into the apex of a root, and the other segments are usually warmed and condensed against the tip with a plugger. More cone segments are then added until the canal is filled.
