Schmidt’s syndrome1 /shmits/ [Adolf Schmidt, German physician, 1865–1918] , paralysis on one side, affecting the vocal cord, the soft palate, the trapezius muscle, and the sternocleidomastoid muscle, resulting from a lesion in the brain. Also called vagoaccessory syndrome.
