schizogony

schizogony, a form of asexual reproduction characteristic of certain protozoa, including sporozoa, in which daughter cells are produced by multiple fission of the nucleus of the parasite (schizont), followed by segmentation of the cytoplasm to form separate masses around each smaller nucleus.
