saturation

saturation /sach′ərā″shən/ [L, saturare, to fill] , 1. a condition in which a solution contains as much solute as can remain dissolved. 2. a measure of the degree to which oxygen is bound to hemoglobin, expressed as a percentage of the possible limit. 3. a chemical compound in which all the valency bonds have been filled.
