rivastigmine

rivastigmine /riv″ah-stig′mēn/ , a reversible inhibitor of cholinesterase, believed to increase the level of acetylcholine available in the central nervous system. It is administered orally as the tartrate salt as an adjunct in the treatment of mild to moderate dementia of the Alzheimer type.
