presenile dementia

presenile dementia, dementia occurring in younger persons, usually in persons age 65 or younger. Because most cases are the result of Alzheimer’s disease, the term is sometimes used to denote the early-onset form of dementia of the Alzheimer type; it has also been used more generally to denote Alzheimer’s disease.
