precision attachment

precision attachment /pri·sish′ən/ [L, praecidere, to cut short] , a device using a close-fitting male and female portion to adjoin fixed or removable partial dentures to the crown of an abutment tooth or a restoration. Also called precision anchorage. See also precision rest, intracoronal retainer.
