pigeon breeder’s lung

pigeon breeder’s lung, a respiratory disorder caused by acquired hypersensitivity to antigens in bird droppings. It is characterized by chills, fever, and difficult breathing. The symptoms subside when exposure to the allergen ceases. Also called bird breeder’s lung, hen worker’s lung.
