photic epilepsy

photic epilepsy [Gk, phos, light, epilepsia, seizure] , a condition in which epileptic attacks may be triggered by flickering light. During an electroencephalogram, a bright light is flashed to try to stimulate this kind of epilepsy. Also called photogenic epilepsy.
