phalloidine

phalloidine /faloi″din/ , a poison present in the mushroom Amanita phalloides. Ingestion of phalloidine results in bloody diarrhea, vomiting, severe abdominal pain, kidney failure, and liver damage. Approximately 50% of phalloidine poisonings are fatal. Also spelled phalloidin.
