pericardiocentesis

pericardiocentesis /per′ikär′dē·ō′sintē″sis/ [Gk, peri + kardia, heart, kentesis, pricking] , a procedure for drawing fluid in the pericardial space between the serous membranes by surgical puncture and aspiration of the pericardial sac. Also called pericardicentesis.
