paramnesia

paramnesia /per′amnē″zhə/ [Gk, para + amnesia, forgetfulness] , 1. a perversion of memory in which one believes that one remembers events and circumstances that never actually occurred. Compare déjà vu. 2. a condition in which words are remembered and used without comprehension of their meaning.
