nephritic gingivitis [Gk, nephros + itis, inflammation, gingiva, gum; Gk, itis, inflammation] , inflammation of the mouth and gingiva associated with kidney failure, accompanied by pain, the odor of ammonia, and increased salivation. Also called uremic gingivitis.
