natriuretic /nā′trēyo͝oret″ik/ , 1. adj., pertaining to the process of natriuresis. 2. n., a substance that inhibits the resorption of sodium ions from the glomerular filtrate in the kidneys, thus allowing more sodium to be excreted with the urine.
