nasopalatine duct cyst, a nonodontogenic cyst that arises from remnants of the unobliterated nasopalatine duct, presenting as swelling, drainage, and pain in the soft tissue of the incisive papilla, lingual to the maxillary central incisors. See also incisive canal cyst.
