lipid pneumonia

lipid pneumonia, an inflammation of the spongy tissue of the lung caused by inhalation of oil droplets into the alveoli. The condition may result from accidentally inhaling oily medications, milk, or other fatty foods or from swimming in petroleum-contaminated water.
