leukophoresis /lo̅o̅′kōfərē″sis/ [Gk, leukos + phoresis, being transmitted] , a laboratory procedure in which blood is drawn and white blood cells are separated from the blood and the red blood cells are returned to the patient. Also spelled leucophoresis.
