Jacquemier’s sign

Jacquemier’s sign /zhäkmē·āz″/ [Jean M. Jacquemier, French obstetrician, 1806–1879] , a deepening of the color of the vaginal mucosa just below the urethral orifice. It may sometimes be noted after the fourth week of pregnancy, but it is not a reliable sign of pregnancy.
