Ixodes

Ixodes /iksō″dēz/ [Gk, sticky] , a genus of parasitic hard-shelled ticks associated with the transmission of a variety of infections, such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Lyme disease, erlichiosis, and babesiosis.
