intracatheter

intracatheter /-kath″ətər/ [L, intra + Gk, katheter, something lowered] , a thin, flexible plastic catheter introduced through a stainless steel needle and threaded into a blood vessel to infuse blood, fluid, or medication. Also called intracath.
