interleukin-4 (IL-4)

interleukin-4 (IL-4), a cytokine that induces differentiation of naive CD4 T cells to Th2 cells (important for activation and differentiation of B cells). IL-4 stimulates the activation of B cells and the differentiation of B cells into plasma cells. Also called B cell stimulating factor-1.
