interleukin-12 (IL-12)

interleukin-12 (IL-12), a cytokine produced by activated dendritic cells. IL-12 induces differentiation of naive CD4 T cells to Th1 cells (important for activation and differentiation of CD8 T cells). Also stimulates cell-mediated killing by natural killer cells and lymphocytes.
