immunophenotypic analysis /-fē′nōtip″ik/ , a method for dividing lymphomas and leukemias into clonal subgroups on the basis of differences in cell surfaces and cytoplasmic antigens. The antigenic differences are detected with monoclonal antibodies and flow cytometry.
