Hürthle cell carcinoma

Hürthle cell carcinoma [Karl W. Hürthle] , a malignant neoplasm of the thyroid gland composed of Hürthle cells. These tumors, which occur more often in women than in men, are encapsulated, resemble adenomas, and are locally invasive. Compare Hürthle cell adenoma.
