hepatopancreatic ampulla /-pan′krē·at″ik/ [Gk, hēpar + pan, all, kreas, flesh] , the dilation formed by the junction of the pancreatic and bile ducts as they open into the lumen of the duodenum. Also called ampulla of the bile duct, ampulla of Vater, Vater’s ampulla.
