hemophilia B

hemophilia B, a hereditary blood disorder, transmitted as an X-linked recessive trait and caused by a deficiency of factor IX. The condition is clinically similar to but less severe than hemophilia A. Also called Christmas disease. See coagulation factor, hemophilia.
