hematocytoblast /hem′ətōsī″təblast′/ [Gk, haima, blood, kytos, cell, blastos, germ] , a large nucleated reticuloendothelial cell found in bone marrow. It is believed to be a common precursor of various blood elements. Also called hemocytoblast.
