gnathostatic cast

gnathostatic cast /nā′thōstat″ik/ [Gk, gnathos + statike, weighing; ME, casten] , a cast or mold of the teeth trimmed so that its occlusal plane is in its normal oral attitude when the cast is set on a horizontal surface. It is used in orthodontic diagnosis based on gnathostatics.
