glycocholic acid

glycocholic acid /glīkōkol″ik/ [Gk, glykys, sweet; L, acidus, sour] , a substance in bile, formed by glycine and cholic acid, that aids in digestion and absorption of fats. Glycocholic acid is used as a food additive and an emulsifying agent. Also called cholylglycine.
