forest yaws

forest yaws /for″ist/ [L, foris, outside; Afr, yaw, strawberry] , a cutaneous form of American leishmaniasis, common in South and Central America, caused by Leishmania guyanensis. The disease is chronic, with multiple deep skin ulcers that occasionally spread to the nasal mucosa. Also called pian bois.
