flush [ME, fluschen] , 1. a blush or sudden reddening of the face and neck. 2. a sudden subjective feeling of heat. 3. a prolonged reddening of the face such as may be seen with fever, use of certain drugs, or hyperthyroidism. 4. a sudden rapid flow of water or other liquid.
