floppy epiglottis

floppy epiglottis, a condition in which the epiglottis is sucked into the glottis during inspiration. It is a common cause of laryngeal stridor in infants. Adult onset is rare. When present in adults, it is most often associated with head injury or cerebrovascular accident.
