extroversion /-vur″zhən/ [L, extra + vertere, to turn] , 1. the tendency to direct one’s interests and energies toward external values or things outside the self. 2. the state of being totally or primarily concerned with what is outside the self. Also spelled extraversion. Compare introversion.
