embryotroph

embryotroph /em″brē·ətrof′/ [Gk, en + bryein + trophe, nourishment] , the liquefied uterine nutritive material, composed of glandular secretions and degenerative tissue, that nourishes the mammalian embryo until placental circulation is established. Also called histotroph, histotrophe, histotrophic nutrition. Compare hemotroph.
