ectopic pregnancy

ectopic pregnancy, an abnormal pregnancy in which the conceptus implants outside the uterine cavity or in the intramural portion of the uterus or cervix. Formerly called eccyesis. Kinds include abdominal pregnancy, ovarian pregnancy, tubal pregnancy.
