diphtheritic laryngitis

diphtheritic laryngitis [Gk, diphtheria, larynx, itis, inflammation] , inflammation of the larynx caused by the bacterium Corynebacterium diphtheriae. A serious complication is the formation of a false membrane. Also called diphtheritic croup, laryngeal diphtheria. See also diphtheria.
